Multi-Tiered System of Supports
We have begun an important initiative at Kent City Community Schools – the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This proactive approach is aimed at ensuring the success and well-being of each and every student. We will accomplish this by providing district-wide instruction for students across both academics and behavioral domains, as well as targeted interventions and tailoring support to student’s individual needs.
Why MTSS?
1. Student Success
By addressing student needs in the areas of academics and behavior as soon as possible, our staff can create an environment where each student has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.
2. Personalized Support
By understanding the specific needs of each student, we can tailor interventions to ensure that they receive the assistance necessary for their individual growth and success.
3. Collaboration and Communication
MTSS promotes collaboration among educators, parents, and support staff. Your input and involvement are essential in this process. By working together, we can ensure that the strategies implemented are aligned with the needs and strengths of your child.
4. Continuous Improvement
MTSS is a dynamic and flexible framework that allows us to continually assess and refine our practices based on student outcomes. This commitment to continuous improvement ensures that we are responsive to the evolving needs of our students.
We want to emphasize to you that the introduction of MTSS is a positive step towards fostering an environment where every child can reach their full potential.
